Saturday, September 28th - Another Busy Weekend
We had another busy weekend with two gigs in one Saturday. First we took the stage at the Brown Sugar Festival in New Iberia and then we capped the day off by getting active in our own community with Lafayette's "Re-Imagine McV Fest". We had an incredible time and we hope everyone else did as well.
The Natives hope to see a lot of familiar and new faces on October 16th at noon at Blackham Coliseum for the Bayou Round Up Car Show. After that, we want y'all to come and get spooky with us for our Halloween Jam at the Wurst Biergarten!
October is looking to be a very fun month!
August 23rd and 24th - Double-Header Weekend
With two performances, this weekend has been very busy for the Natives. We want to thank everyone that came out to Wing Fingers and The Pearl and we hope our music will make the start of your school year a little bit brighter.
March 24th marked the 3rd anniversary of New Natives Brass Band's first performance. We are very grateful to have been around this long and we hope to be around even longer!
New Natives Brass Band at SXSW in Austin, TX
The Natives took the 6 hour drive out to Austin, Texas on March 15th to perform at Antone's for SXSW 2019. The crowd was electric and the energy was high. New Natives took the stage and got the party started at 8 PM. The Natives would like to thank everyone involved in helping us to get to this once in a lifetime performance. Hope to see all of our fans soon!
Happy Mardi Gras from New Natives Brass Band!
New Natives had a busy day this Mardi Gras. The first gig of the day was at Bisbano's right on the parade route. Then we moved downtown to The Pearl for their Mardi Gras party. To cap off the night, we took the stage at the Blue Moon Saloon and acted like fools! Check out the videos below!
Krewe de Canailles 2019
The Natives recently participated in Lafayette's very own Parade Without Barricades. Surrounded by revelers dress as Louisiana Folklore, we brought the funk and had people dancing in the street. After the parade, we opened up for Roddie Romero at Warehouse 535.
It was truly a great time.
Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Even though today might be a day off, remember that today is about honoring the sacrifice that Dr. King made. As a champion for equality for everyone, Dr. King was pivotal in making the what it is today.
Shot dead on cold concrete at the Lorraine Motel, Dr. King was killed because he was hated. Despite the hate he endured he was still a beacon of love and acceptance.
Today Dr. King, we honor, respect, and appreciate you.
